This statement is made on behalf of Casgo Care with regards to the Modern Slavery Act 2015 which requires employers to be transparent about their efforts to eradicate Slavery and Human Trafficking in their supply chain.
We are proud of the steps we have taken to combat slavery and human trafficking and this statement details our policies and practices in recognizing and preventing human trafficking and slavery in our supply chain.
As a provider of healthcare assistants, Support workers, Nurses and Mental health professionals within the public and private health and social care sectors, we are committed to ensuring that there is no modern slavery or human trafficking in our supply chains or in any part of our business.
Our Anti-Slavery Policy reflects our commitment to acting ethically and with integrity in all our business relationships and to implementing and enforcing effective systems and controls to ensure slavery and human trafficking is not taking place anywhere in our supply chains.
Our Supply Chain
As a care company, our supply chain mainly consists of the provision of care staff and care services to other organisations, all of which are based in the United Kingdom. These services are required by our client base to deliver specific care services to their service users. As part of our review for this statement we have identified that there are some items being sourced from our suppliers from outside the United Kingdom, such as uniform.
Our procurement from these suppliers is a centralised function which requires the use of pre-approved suppliers which means we have controls in place for committed expenditure and the option to complete due diligence and retrospective checks.
Our procurement policy is designed to ensure we operate in a legal and ethical manner. We expect all suppliers to commit to comply with all laws, regulations and our policies and terms of supply.
We take a zero-tolerance approach to abuse of human rights, slavery, servitude, forced or compulsory labour and human trafficking. Any supplier or client that fails to meet our standards will jeopardise their ability to trade with us and we may ultimately cease trading with any such supplier.
Safeguarding
We work closely in the community, and we have noted that the most vulnerable groups in the UK for modern slavery could include migrant workers, illegal immigrants, asylum seekers, homeless people, travellers and people suffering from mental health conditions or learning difficulties. We already have detailed procedures, operating documents and training for safeguarding, and we are working on how we can educate our staff on modern slavery and help identify anyone in the community we believe may be at risk of abuse.
Our staff
Casgo Carehas strict HR policies and procedures that ensure compliance with legislation and ensures fair and equal treatment, dignity at work and prevents discrimination. Casgo Care do not condone child labour or the labour of any unprotected person (as the result of a mental or physical illness). We do not engage any workers who are younger than the U.K. minimum legal age for employment. We encourage all staff to report any activity they believe to be in breach of any of our operating standards or policies to us.
Due Diligence
We are committed to ensuring there is no modern slavery or human trafficking in any part of our business.
We will:
- Identify and assess risks in our supply chain and ensure compliance from our suppliers.
- Provide training for our staff in these risks.
- Protect whistle blowers.
